TMQ Community Outreach

Community outreach is a core value of the guild. TMQ members provide quilts to multiple local Northern Nevada recipients while creating awareness of the craft to the public. In 2024, more than 500 quilts were delivered to local charities.

Quilts for Children

Members create and donate quilts appropriately sized for babies and children to a number of organizations throughout the community.

Quilts for Adults

Adult-sized quilts are donated to skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, home health and hospice agencies, local shelters, and other social services in the community.

Opportunity Quilt

Each year, TMQ raffles a quilt to raise money in support of a local charity. Quilt lovers and TMQ champions are given the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win a lovely quilt. ​​​

 

The first Opportunity Quilt for 2025 is "Quickstep Blues," and measures
61” x 76.” The top was donated to TMQ and TMQ member Debbie Audenreid did the beautiful quilting work on it. The drawing for this quilt will be held at this year's Quilt Show Reno on June 7.

The second Opportunity Quilt is "Triangle Treasures." This top was also donated and the gorgeous quilting was completed by Debbie Audenreid. The winning ticket for "Triangle Treasures" will be drawn at the December TMQ meeting.

Proceeds from the 2025 raffle effort will benefit the Veteran's Guest House in Reno, which provides veterans and their families temporary overnight accommodations while receiving medical treatment in the Reno / Sparks area.
